David worked in my team for just over 2 years on a number of key health, safety and risk initiatives that presented key operational risks to the $24 billion APLNG project. As a long-serving, career public servant with over 43 years in public administration in Queensland, I have seen a lot of things come and go but had not been exposed to the ‘Agile way’. However, the successful results and achievement of the project outcomes is evidence of the value of using this approach in complex and significant projects, particularly in a public sector environment.
I have since converted my office to an Agile room where a wall is dedicated to stand-up meetings that held with all project members (once this included a tier 1 consultancy who were engaged on a high profile project!). By using the Illume team, I’ve been able to add further value through coaching my senior line management and project team members.
I have recently completed the roll out of a global risk management framework with Geoff . Over a period of approximately 10 months we collectively developed and rolled out a consistent qualitative risk assessment methodology across three countries (US, Australia and Turkey). Using a hands on, interactive approach facilitating workshops at all levels of the business to develop skills in the process, we have succeeded in embedding a group wide risk management framework.
Geoff was instrumental in the implementation, providing support in terms of the framework build and expert facilitation of workshop sessions and risk content. He managed to bridge the divide in risk management process awareness in participants to get maximum value out of each session, ensuring key content was identified, well understood and cascaded up to the senior management.
Through the development of the process, Geoff ably assisted me in developing risk assessment skills amongst our team to the extent that the framework is now self-sustaining.
Really wanted to thank Grant for his help in setting up Agile with the PCO Team. Grant brought a practical approach that focused on growing the agile capability of the people in the team.
It delivered on the promise of improved customer focus and management oversight and quickly delivered working outputs in a way that has stuck with us after his departure.
The Team now really likes Agile for the clarity it brings and the ability to share across the team.
